CylinderSupportSystem LLC pioneered the close deck process for the performance engine industry. Originally developed for Honda engines, our technology has since expanded to support virtually every engine platform that can benefit from the close deck process. The CSS process was developed as a more reliable alternative to fully sleeving an engine block, preserving the integrity of the original casting.

It should not be confused with the industry-known "blockguard," since unlike the traditional blockguard, our process does not rely on the loose tolerance factory casting for fitment. Instead, the water jacket is CNC-machined to accept our billet 6061 aluminum support rings. This machining creates a true interference fit that provides uniform, 360-degree support around each cylinder(s), from the top of the support ring to the bottom. The result is superior cylinder stability for high revs, added strength for boosted applications and proper heat transfer away from the combustion area to reduce detonation potential.
